Interns of the Business Design & Optimization Group are exceptional undergraduate and graduate students will a passion for project management and consulting. Each year a new cohort of students join the team and help to make a positive impact on the university and its constituents.
Current Interns

Ryka Mehra
Program: Economics
Undergraduate Lead Intern
Ryka is a senior in the College from Mumbai, India, majoring in Economics with a minor in Psychology. On campus, she serves as the Chief Strategy Officer at the Hilltop Microfinance Initiative, the USA’s largest student-run microfinance organization, where she helps marginalized entrepreneurs gain access to small business loans and financial coaching sessions. She is also a member of Georgetown Guzaarish, the university’s competitive South Asian fusion dance team. Outside of college, Ryka enjoys traveling, binge-watching TV shows, and learning new dance styles. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in consulting that incorporates her interests in nonprofit leadership and development economics.

Thomas Moran
Program: International Economics
Undergraduate Lead Intern
Thomas is a junior in the SFS from Minnesota. He is majoring in International Economics with minors in Statistics and German. On campus, he is an SFS Peer Advisor and the president of Homeless Outreach Programs & Education. He previously interned in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and spent the last Summer interning with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring DC with friends, watching bad movies, and playing the OEC Tradle.

Felix Dosmond
Program: Philosophy and Government
Undergraduate Intern
Felix is a junior in the College from Greenwich, Connecticut, double majoring in Philosophy and Government. Outside of the classroom, he is involved in Innovo Consulting and The Stratagem Initiative, an international affairs club. He enjoys collaborating with peers in these extracurricular groups and BDOG. In his free time, Felix likes running and has finished the Marine Corps Marathon in DC twice.

Eva Li
Program: Data science and analytics
Data Intern
Eva is a second-year graduate student at Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, originally from Shanghai, China. Before pursuing graduate studies, Eva majored in mathematics and completed several data science internships with social media companies. Passionate about continuous learning, Eva is eager to develop new skills across both technical and business domains, with a strong interest in using data to inform strategic decision-making. After graduation, Eva hopes to work as a data scientist for a tech company. Outside of academics, Eva enjoys cooking, going to the gym, and exploring the city.

Sarah Liang
Program: Accounting and Operations & Analytics
Undergraduate Intern
Sarah is a junior in the MSB from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania majoring in Accounting and OPAN and minoring in Spanish. On campus, she is a project manager for Hoyalytics and a Resident Assistant. She also enjoys playing badminton on Georgetown’s club team and is a leader for ESCAPE, a first-year retreat program. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in consulting or analytics. In her free time, Sarah loves to bike, edit videos, plan food crawls, and go on night drives.

Joe Robinson
Program: Finance
Undergraduate Intern
Joe is a sophomore in the MSB from Massachusetts, majoring in finance. On campus, he is a loan officer for the Georgetown University Alumni and Student Federal Credit Union, the largest entirely student-run credit union in the United States. He also underwrites loans for the Hilltop Microfinance Initiative, which provides affordable capital to small businesses excluded from the commercial lending system. In his free time, Joe enjoys playing golf, weightlifting, and spending time with friends.

Jiani Zhao
Program: Public Policy
Data Intern
Jennie Zhao is a graduate student at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, originally from Zhejiang, China. She brings experience in both academic research and industry settings, focusing on business consulting and programming. Passionate about using data to drive equitable and evidence-based decision-making, Jennie has a strong interest in public policy, social impact, and African development. At Georgetown, she is currently involved in projects that use statistical modeling and data visualization to explore policy questions in African contexts. After graduation, Jennie hopes to work as a data analyst at an international organization such as the United Nations.
